So While I wait to find out what the deal is on the Caddy (Turns out the windshield rust may be much worse than though) I’ve been looking over cars And I came across this car:

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

and I’m wondering is there any known issues with buying a registering a Canadian market car in the us? That’s a pretty decent deal for a 05 Lacrosse with only 86k but makes me wonder what issues would come with trying to register it, if any at all.. It would be kind of cool to have the Non-US model even if it’s only different in name (thanks masturbating french Canadians!)

I wouldn’t think there would be any issue at all. We can import equivalent American models into Canada with no issues as long as they are sold in both countries. You should just be able to register it as a Lacrosse I imagine...

If it's got the EPA label under the hood and the crash label in the door jam you can get it in and registered. Depending on the state selling it can be a huge PITA. From what I understand a lot of them don't have an easy way to attest to the ODO reading if it's in KM.

It’s a GM you just have to press a button for km/MI changes. I’ll have to check on the eap and crash test stuff.

$4500 is my advertised price, but that’s not what you’d pay if you wanted it, and it's got 71k and change

My Ranger was originally sold in Quebec. In my case the broker handled the stuff like changing the gauge cluster and putting the “re-imported” sticker on the door sill. AFAIK Canadian regulations align with the US (at least non-CARB states) so there shouldn't be too much hassle.

I’m not really a Deville guy. But this is a pretty sweet deal. I’d have to think it over and I’d need a few weeks to get the capital up to near those numbers. but if I may, this has the FE1 susspension right? not Magneride or the CVRSS? I guess can you dump as much info about the car on me as possible, like are there any current issues Id have to be planning on?

None if it’s on a US title. The cluster will even flip completely to MPH too on those cars. If not you have to take it to customs with a letter from GM stating the recalls are done and it is equivalent to a US model, which is not a difficult process. Costs less than $100 CDN IIRC.

Ah ok. Yeah definitely double check to make sure. Other than that, you should be good to go then!

Only thing I’d say is it’ll need is a tie rod soon, O2 sensor, and new wheel speed sensors, but it’s honestly not that big a deal, just doesn’t have TC or ABS (it’s been like that since I got it, and I drove it through some nasty ass weather just fine). Trans was rebuilt last year, has a new driveshaft,cv joint, assorted power steering bits, and motor mount, (all done since October) tires were new in August.

Yes, FE1 suspension, here’s the build sheet.

hmmm. so yeah it’s the same as my Seville, just bigger and less sexy... and the wheel sensors is an easy fix...
